“We need an SAP consultant”
is not a role. Name the module.
An FI consultant cannot configure your pricing procedure and an ABAPer cannot run your UAT. We staff by module and by lane, tell you honestly where our bench is thin, and keep the consultant on our payroll throughout.
Eight modules, and how deep our bench actually goes
“Recruit to spec” means exactly that — we do not have someone waiting, and we will tell you the realistic lead time rather than sending an adjacent skill set and hoping.
FI / CO
functionalGeneral ledger, AP/AR, asset accounting, cost centres and profitability. The module your auditors care about most.
MM / SD
functionalProcure-to-pay and order-to-cash. Pricing procedures, output determination, and the availability check nobody documented.
PP / QM
functionalProduction planning, routings, BOMs and quality inspection points on the shop floor.
ABAP
technicalReports, enhancements, BAdIs, CDS views and the clean-core discipline that keeps an upgrade from being a rewrite.
Fiori / UI5
technicalFiori apps and launchpad configuration — where SAP stops looking like 1998 to the people who use it daily.
BTP / Integration
technicalExtensions on BTP, CPI and API management, so custom logic lives outside the core rather than inside it.
S/4HANA migration
functionalBrownfield conversion or greenfield build, with the custom-code remediation costed honestly up front.
BASIS
basisSystem administration, transports, performance and the upgrade window itself. The smallest pool on the market.
Most failed SAP hires are a lane mistake
A project needs all three, rarely in the same person, and almost never in equal amounts. Getting the mix wrong is more expensive than getting the rate wrong.
Functional
Speaks to your finance and supply-chain teams
Configures the module, writes the specification, runs UAT, and is the person who knows why the pricing procedure has that condition type in it.
Technical
Writes the code
ABAP, CDS, Fiori, integration. Builds what the functional consultant specified — and pushes back when the specification would break the upgrade path.
Basis
Keeps the system standing
Landscape, transports, performance, security and the upgrade. Usually part-time on a project, and usually the constraint on the go-live date.
SAP rates are higher for a reason
The pool is genuinely smaller and the cost of a wrong configuration is genuinely larger. We would rather quote you $65 for the right module than $35 for an adjacent one.
Ask for the module, not the product
"An SAP consultant" is like asking for "a doctor". Tell us FI, or MM, or ABAP-with-CDS, and the shortlist gets useful immediately.
Part-time is normal here
Many SAP roles are genuinely half a person. We bill in half-time allocations rather than pretending you need a full head.
Send the module, the release and the deadline
Three facts and we can tell you within a day whether we have the consultant on the bench or need three weeks to find them.
