Terms of Service

These terms cover this website. The work itself is governed by a signed statement of work — and where the two disagree, the contract wins.

1.What these terms cover

These terms govern your use of virtusinfotech.com. By using the site you accept them.

They do not govern the services we deliver. Every engagement is contracted separately in a signed statement of work and master services agreement, and where those documents conflict with anything on this website, they take precedence.

2.Using this website

Permitted
Reading, sharing links, and printing pages for your own business use.
Not permitted
Scraping at a rate that degrades the site, probing or testing its security without written permission, or republishing substantial extracts as your own.
Availability
We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may change or withdraw any page without notice.

3.Information on this site is not advice

The articles, architecture diagrams, benchmark figures and indicative timelines published here are general information written for a broad audience. They are not professional advice for your circumstances, and no engagement exists between us until a statement of work is signed by both parties.

Where we quote figures such as typical durations or payback ranges, they describe outcomes we have seen on comparable engagements. They are illustrative and are not a warranty of the result you will get.

4.Intellectual property

The content, design, diagrams and code of this website belong to Virtus Infotech or our licensors, and trade marks shown here belong to their respective owners.

Under a delivery engagement, ownership of the work we produce for you is set out in the contract. Our standard position is that you own the deliverables and the source code on final payment, and we retain ownership of our pre-existing tools, libraries and know-how, licensed to you as needed to use the deliverables.

5.What you send us

Please do not send confidential information through the enquiry form. If you need to share something sensitive before a contract exists, ask us for a mutual non-disclosure agreement first — we will sign one on request and without argument.

Anything you submit through a form is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

6.Third-party links and platforms

We link to third-party documentation, vendors and platforms where it is useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices.

Naming a vendor or platform on this site is not an endorsement, a partnership claim, or a statement that we are certified by them unless we say so explicitly.

7.Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website — including lost profits, lost data and indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Liability under a delivery engagement is capped in that engagement's own contract.

8.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of Alberta have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes about this website.

The governing law of a delivery engagement is agreed in that engagement's contract and may differ.

9.Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The revision date at the top of this page tells you when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Questions about these terms: contact@virtusinfotech.com, or Virtus Infotech, 223 Martindale Boulevard NE, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
